Steve Huber's 2003 average of .9914 in singles led Pennsylvania in singles averages for 2002. It
is the second time he led the state in any discipline. His .9916
led the state last year. Shawn Kirsch of Warren was second
with a .9900 average and Stephen Ollock's average of .9891
was third. Tammy van Blargan led the state women with a
.9795 average and Sonya Miller was second with an average
of .9778.

Steve Huber, shooting from
the 27 yard line, led the state in Handicap averages for the first
time. The All American from Bethel, PA averaged .9363 on 3000
targets. Stephen Ollock was a close second with an average
of .9356 and 2250 clay birds. Leading the women was Tammy van
Blargan with an average of .9240 on 1000 targets. Second
year gunner and 2004 All American KayLynn Hamilton was
second with an average of .9154 on 3500 targets. 2003

Handicap Average Leaders

Ken Darroch of Aliquippa had
the highest doubles average among state gunners during 2003. His
average was .9724 on 2900 doubles targets. This
is the seventh time he has led state shooters. Joel
Etchen was second for the second straight year with an average
of .9664 on 2200 targets. Scott Berkhous was third. Sub-Junior Stephanie Sandler led
the state women for the second straight year with an average of
.9419 on 2700 targets. Her averages set a new state record
eclipsing the record set by Cassie Sharrer of .9417 set
back in 1987. She is the only sub-junior to lead the
state in averages of any kind. Linda Straub was second with
an average of .9177 on 1300 targets.
