Vendel captures Eastern Zone Singles title with 200 straight and Doubles
crown with 99.
| Shooters from 21 states
flooded the grounds of the PSSA in Elysburg, PA for the 2003 ATA Eastern
Zone Trapshooting Championships as the PSSA threw 638,900 targets.
Chris Vendel of Rochester, NY won the Eastern Zone Singles title with
200 straight and a 12 round, 14 way shootoff of 200's. He also won the
title in 1991 with the same score and broke a 100 straight from the 27
yard line to win the 2000 Eastern Zone crown. Chris also won the Doubles
title with 99. Sonya Miller of Alburtis, PA won the Women's
Singles title, her second, with a 199x200. Her first crown came back in
1990. Kay Ohye won the HAA (his 12th) and the HOA (his 15th)
titles.
Frank Bonaiuto of Ontario won
Sundays main Handicap title with a 99 from the back fence.
