Pennsylvania has eight 2010
ATA All Americans bringing PA total
All Americans to 416 since first year in 1927. The cream comes to the top.  Allen Heil of Allentown was the first state selection in 1927.

Stephanie Sandler, Cody Davis and Sheldon Hostetter first team selections. Colorado leads the ATA with ten selections. Pennsylvania tied for second.

The 2009 ATA All American Teams have been announced and the Quaker State has 8 gunners who earned their way on to the teams. That brings the total of Pennsylvania All American to 416, fourth largest in the ATA. California has 563 selections and Ohio has 519 and Illinois 438.

After leading the nation last year with eleven selections Pennsylvania slipped into a tie for second with Illinois with 8 team members. Colorado led the ATA with ten members, led by Ray Stafford. Stafford made his 42nd appearance, all first team selections. That includes four first team International selections. He has also been selected captain or co-captain eight times. 

Carolyn Elliott and Frank Little lead the state with 14 All American selections. Little was selected 35 times while living in three states as well as International team selections. David George and Rhoda Wolf have 12 each and Mary Christopher has 11. Steve Crothers and Walter Beaver were selected 9 times each during the era of only 10-12 being selected by each year by Jimmy Robinson. Ken Darroch and Harold Keiser each have 9 selections and Anna Mae Eberle and George Newmaster and Stephanie Sandler each have 8 selections.

Stephanie Sandler of New Ringgold, Cody Davis of Shohola and Sheldon Hostetter of Lebanon earned first team women, junior and veteran selections. Stephanie has now earned 8 selections while Cody made his 5th selection, all in a row from 2006 to 2010. Hostetter was again named to the veteran first team, his third straight such selection. Sheldon was a men's second team selection back in 2006. Cody was selected to 3 sub-junior teams and now twice as a junior. Stephanie has been selected to 6 women's All American first teams, one women's second team plus one first team sub-junior award. 

Kim Bateman of Slippery Rock was selected to her fourth All American team, all second team selections and her first since 2007. Kim was also honored in 2003 and 2004. Pennsylvania also had another junior shooter on the All American team. Dylan Darhower of Mechanicsburg was selected to junior second team, his second All American team selection. He earned his way on the sub-junior first team last year. 

Philip Criado of Franklin made his first All American team appearance being selected to the veteran second team. Senior veteran gunners Ralph Challingsworth of Kersey and Robert LeFever of Lancaster both made the Senior Vet second teams. Both are first time selections. 

All 8 All Americans were also selected to the Pennsylvania All State teams.
