Women's Clay Target Championship at 1974 Grand American
August 21, 1974: Two Pennsylvania women were first and second in
the women's Clay Target Championship at the 1974 Grand American. Dolores
Hendersched broke a 198 to finish as champion and Kathleen Sedlecky
broke a 197 to finish second. Dolores won the women's HOA at the 1971 Grand American.

Cars at 2nd Annual Pennsylvania Grand
The second
annual Pennsylvania Grand, held from August 31-September 2, 1974
saw three men drive away in new automobiles by winning their yardage in the Handicap
Championship. There were 513 shooters entered in the seven event program. Charlie
Sheckler downed 98 doubles targets to win the Doubles Championship while Richard
Hamilton broke a 199 and a two round shoot-off over Ernie Hartranft
to win the Singles Championship.
On September 2nd, 1974 at the Roxborough Gun
Club in Philadelphia, G. H. Doughty and M. P. Wensel
broke 100 straight to win the Singles title while Mary Christopher broke
a 92 to take to women's title. The junior award went to Eugene Leoni Jr.
with a 99. He also broke a 96 to win the Doubles award. L.F. Hardy broke
48x50 to win the Handicap.
The Lehigh
Valley League is enjoying its biggest season since being organized in 1954. It opened on September 16 with 663 shooters and has maintained attendance of
over 600 for each schedules after that.

29, 1974: Paul Huffman broke a 495x500 to win the Singles Marathon
event at the Frank L. Sidebothan Memorial Marathon held at the Bucks
County Fish and Game Association in Doylestown, PA. Huffman had three 100 straights during
the marathon. He was presented his trophy by Jane Sidebothan, the widow
of Frank Sidebothan. He had died of a heart attack in July of 1974.

21-22, 1975: Prior to this shoot, the club installed a fifth trapfield, which
allowed continuous practice for the first time while competition firing went on over the
other four fields. Bob Machamer broke a 92 in the championship Doubles
event to take first place. Frank Conrad's 95 from the 22 yard line won
the main Handicap title. Class B shooter Gene Wieand broke the only 100
to win the main Singles event.
