ASHLAND — At this time last year, Steven Huber of Orwigsburg was in the midst of one of the best of his many fine trapshooting seasons.

He was coming off a Pennsylvania State Shoot in which he won two events, placed second in his class in two others and third in another, and added fifth and sixth-place overall finishes in two of the larger events. He added a runner-up finish in an event at the Pennsylvania Grand Trapshoot and was on his way to being named a Pennsylvania All-American shooter for the fifth time in six years.

His wife, Amy, although also an occasional shooter, was for the most part his biggest cheerleader.

Things have changed.

Because of a bout with cancer and a corresponding problem, Steven Huber is unable to shoot right now. So he asked his wife if she would become a more active shooter so he could coach her and stay involved with the sport.

Amy has turned out to be a pretty good student. At this year’s state shoot at the Valley Gun and Country Club in Elysburg, Amy was ladies’ runner-up in the Krieghoff Handicap, shooting 96 of 100 targets, but losing a shootoff. It was easily the most impressive thing she’s done in the sport. Full Article.

A NOTE FROM BOB STUART:

In an attempt to provide the shooters with speedy information after the tournament, I have developed the tournament score board feature for my web site.

Shooters will be able to type in a name or portion of a name and have displayed for them the complete scores shot at that tournament. It allows the shooters to not only look up their scores, but anyone that attended that tournament.

I have gone back and compiled the score board for all of 2007 and any tournaments I have done this year. Check it out and let me know what you think. To access the score board:

Visit www.rjstuart.com and select the "shoot results" tab. Then select the year, either 2008 or 2007, and when the menu of tournaments appears, select the "score board" tab to the right for the tournament of your choice. Then type in a name, or part of a name, or event a single letter, and see the results.
