claydarken.gif (1405 bytes)February 1, 2000, Orwigsburg Gun Club

We received an email from Wallace Kimmel on February 1, 2000 concerning a problem at the Orwigsburg Gun Club. Anyone out there can communicate with him on this issue. Here is his problem:

I would like to know if any of your members or gun club affiliates have encountered a problem like ours.

I am Wallace Kimmel, President of the Orwigsburg Gun Club. Three months ago the land beside us was sold. Our trap was setup facing this land and our shot is falling approximately 45 feet onto the property. The new owner has already contacted DEP and lodged a complaint and is trying to stop us from shooting. Our club was charted in 1941 and has been shooting there since the late 30's. The new owner wants us to clean up the shot and stop trespassing on his land (shot landing on his property). He is also complaining about the noise and lights. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice you can give us on this matter .

Thank you very much,
Wallace Kimmel

The following note was received from Lynn Sprankle of Timonium, MD.

Thanks for getting my name in lights so promptly! I'm not accustomed to finishing high enough to appear on such lists, much less ones that appear on the Web. My wife and I certainly had a great time at the Colonial Classic, and would have enjoyed ourselves even if I had shot as I usually do. I must get inspired by that mountain scenery....
