After one look at these gorgeous vintage shell boxes, is it any wonder that so many people spend so much time and money
hunting for and buying them? As you can see from the estimated price for most of the boxes, they range from very extreme to very reasonable. (The prices reflect boxes in top condition.) Just like glass target balls, as more and more of these gems get into collections, the prices will continue to escalate. All these came to the dealer, than to the shooter, in large wooden crates that held twenty shell boxes. This changed in the early 1950’s when the ammunition companies changed to cardboard boxes. These wood crates are also collectable.
